Decent experience with good service: The Living Room, by Bodon @ Apollo Hotel (13. August 2021)
The Living Room, by Bodon is a kind of a weird name for a bar but it turns out the bar is actually quite decent. It’s located in the Apollo Hotel and actually quite nice in terms of interior design. The waiter was the same as for lunch in The Harbour Club Amsterdam Zuid and did as excellent a job. We went for some nibbles with the drinks, i.e., “shrimp Croquettes (4 pieces)” (EUR 12.00), “bitterballen (8 pieces)” (EUR 9.00) and “bread, salted butter-mackerel tapenade” (EUR 7.00) which was rather fine in terms of flavor and taste.
They did not have the “Mint Julep” (EUR 13.00) as a drink on their menu but one of the bartenders was able to make it – and it turned out quite deliciously. So big props to them for making it happen despite the fact that it was not officially on the menu.
All in all, The Living Room, by Bodon is a decent place which offers good drinks and a nice atmosphere since you get to watch the canal and how the boats are passing by – which is quite entertaining. Admittedly, the terrace of the harbour club is more appealing in terms of design and comfortableness but it’s still a nice place.
