When you’re not welcome as a guest: The Living Room, by Bodon @ Apollo Hotel (14. August 2021)
As lovely as the place was during the afternoon, as crappy it was shortly before midnight. I mean, we arrived 45 minutes before closing time but you could clearly see that we were not welcome at all. We were pretty much ignored. Like, completely ignored! Only once I walked up to the bar and demanded to be attended, a waitress – who made it very clear that she did not like to be there – attended us. I went for the “Mezcal is the word” (pear & black pepper infused Mezcal, Maraschino Liquier, pineapple juice, lime juice, chartreuse)” (EUR 15.00) which was not recognized by the waitress and only once I pointed at it on the menu, she understood and said “oh, that’s from the new menu”. Yeah, great, good for you, but why would you not know your menu?
Luckily, the drink was good and generally enjoyable. However, the whole experience was not really that amazing. So, I revisit my assessment of the previous day – maybe not that recommendable after all, respectively highly depending on the waiter or waitress.
