Decent food but not really providing a proper beach club experience: Restaurant UM Beach House Portals (21. August 2021)
What you get at the UM Beach House Portals is, in a nutshell, an overpriced beach bed with no beach access (so it’s kind of misleading marketing) but they have, at least, a nice restaurant where you have a lovely view onto the sea. And the food is, overall, quite enjoyable. We went for the “tiraditos (tuna, salmon, seabass and butter fish with citrus and sprouts)” (EUR 32.00) which were surprisingly good.
The “calamar frito (fried calamari with ‘piquillo’ peppers mayo)” (EUR 17.00) on the other hand wasn’t really all that outstanding.
The “ensalada aguacate & boniato (baked sweet potatoes, avocado, feta cheese, pumpkin seeds, pickled red onions, goji berry, lettuce, almonds, and mustard vinaigrette)” (EUR 19.00) was definitely healthy and due to the variety of different ingredients, it was also absolutely enjoyable.
The service is super swift (which is nice) but not entirely up to the task. I ordered sparkling water and got regular one and had to wave quite a bit until someone showed up to correct the mistake. All in all, eating at the restaurant is definitely okay – renting a beach bed is not worth it.
