Good paella but way too slow service: Sa Font Pool Bar @ Castillo Son Vida (22. August 2021)
Given I always try to kind of try all restaurants which are present in the hotel area, I decided that the last meal of this Mallorca visit was gonna be at the ‘Sa Font Pool Bar’ and started with a “ensalada de verano con mango (con trozos de coco, cacahuetes tostados y salsa agridulce de Sriracha)” (EUR 16.00) which was very refreshing and quite lovely but surprisingly something to be shared since the size of the dish was quite massive.
The “paella del mar (con la selección del chef de pescados y mariscos del Mediterráneo)” (EUR 32.00 per person) was perfect for two people (but quite a portion).
But overall enjoyable – a nice seafood flavor and of a great intensity. The service is friendly but too slow. When seated, it took them a solid 10 minutes to take up the order – and when I asked for the bill while still eating (making it clear that I was kind of in a rush), it took them a solid 15 minutes to finally bring it. Which is something I just fail to understand – like, always. Why would you not be able to just bring the bill, empty the table, and get your peace (as a waiter)? I just don’t get it.
Other than that, the Sa Font Pool Bar is nice since it offers a view over Palma which makes the whole thing quite enjoyable. I suppose in the busy season it might even make sense to book a table since else you might end up not getting one.
