Absolutely amazing Italian food experience in the remote areas of Zurich: Ristorante Da Angela (9. September 2021)

| October 24, 2021 | 0 Comments

It’s about three years ago since I have last paid the Da Angela a visit but the place is still the same as before – a great location with friendly and professional service as well as great dishes. Once you’re seated, you get a “burrata mousse with tomato” as an amuse bouche which was nice to get your palate started.

The “Cappelletti ‘Angela’ (home-made cappelletti (beef) with butter and garlic)” (CHF 22.50) are a perfect primo piatto and are mouth-watering delicious! They are perfectly al dente and the combination of butter and garlic just makes it a perfect starter.

The fact that you get “freshly grated Parmesan cheese” on the side just like that without even asking is amazing. I mean, at least it’s something I haven’t seen that way ever before.

Although I was set to try the veal chop the whole day, I decided to go for one of their daily specials, i.e., the “veal belly” (CHF 55.00) which was absolutely delicious. It was aromatic, full of flavor and ultimately just enjoyable overall. It had a resemblance to pork belly but was not as crispy as pork belly most often is but was just something truly enjoyable.

As a side, I went for the “lemon risotto” which was smooth and creamy as risotto should be with a certain graininess, i.e., a good bite.

All in all, the Ristorante Da Angela creates a perfect atmosphere with great service and delicious dishes – for a relatively fair price. So, definitely a place I can recommend to try and definitely a place where you should book your table in advance.
