Lovely cocktails in a crammed atmosphere: Experimental Cocktail Club (24. September 2021)
When you enter the Experimental Cocktail Club, you get the feeling that Covid never existed. The place is absolutely crammed. To be fair, they check your certificates when entering, so, not to worry. In any case, the place is buzzing and that makes it relatively tricky for you to order a drink since you cannot sit down (unless you wait and are lucky) but you have to order your stuff at the bar and everyone does that. There is one bar tender which makes great drinks but is the only guy who does so. Therefore, the average waiting time for drinks ranges between 15 to 30 minutes.
In any case, at some point I spotted a table so we could sit and I was able to take pictures of the drinks too. The “Buller au Boulot (Mezcal del Maguey Vida, liqueur de Génépi Dolin, sève de bouleau fermenté, jus d’ananas pressé, jus de citron vert pressé)” (EUR 14.00) is refreshing and, in line with my personal gusto, actually very enjoyable.
The “Mangochou (Rhum Plantation Pineapple, Mangoshu liqueur de mangue maison, Citra Galactique Brasserie du Grand Paris)” (EUR 13.00) I tried next was decent too but far from overwhelming, respectively, there was something in it which didn’t really satisfy my palate.
I also had the “Experience 1 (Vodka Fair, cordial de fleur de sureau, citronelle fraîche, feuilles de basilic, jus de citron jaune presse)” (EUR 14.00) before we found a table (so, no picture) which was exquisite and definitely one of my favorite drinks I have tried that evening.
The place is tiny and simple in terms of interior design but with the live DJ and the fact that the drinks are exquisite, it is definitely worth visiting.
