Delicious Greek food in a nice, relaxed atmosphere: Restaurant Omonia Taverna (30. September 2021)

| November 28, 2021 | 0 Comments

The Omonia Taverna was recommended to me by a client so it was time to give it a try with another client and I must say that it was definitely a place worth visiting. It’s a traditional Greek restaurant and that’s the kind of food you get there. We started the diner with a selection of different appetizers like the “Calamarakia (grilled baby calamares in lemon olive oil, accompanied by a salad bouquet and tsatsiki)” (EUR 14.90), “Sahanaki (baked feta cheese with a salad bouquet)” (EUR 10.90) and “Halumi (grilled cheese from Cyprus with warm tomatoes, prepared with olive oil and oregano)” (EUR 10.90) and it was not only quite a portion but also a tasty one. The calamares were surprisingly delicious and so was the haloumi and the feta cheese. Definitely a selection of starters I can recommend.

I went for the “grill plate (with souvlaki, gyros, bifteki and chicken filet in lemon oregano marinade, accompanied by tsatsiki, patates, fresh market vegetables and kritharaki)” (EUR 23.90) and I must say that it was great but also too much. The meat quality was exquisite and much better than I had expected. Very often Greek grill plates serve dry meat but this was prepared perfectly as it should be.

The place was relatively booked out so we had to sit outside but they provided covers and there were heaters, so it was still very much enjoyable and comfortable. The service is super friendly and swift and makes sure you enjoy your evening. The whole thing is not only delicious in terms of taste but also great in terms of price performance. So, all in all, make sure you book your table early enough but else I can absolutely recommend you the Omonia Taverna.
