A speakeasy in a pizza place: Speakeasy Aedaen Place (22. October 2021)

| December 26, 2021 | 0 Comments

The Speakeasy Aedaen Place is basically a door at the end of a pizza restaurant – and it’s quite nice since you wouldn’t know that it’s there when you’re having a pizza there (and the whole place still smelled like pizza when we entered). However, if you come after midnight, the pizza place is closed down and the bar remains open, so it kind of loses it’s fancy element since it is already clear from the beginning that you’re not entering the pizza restaurant but rather something else.

As a first drink, I went for the “Chios Thérapie (skinos, eau de vie de céleri Lehmann, verjus de raisin, Aegaen tonic 3 cents)” (EUR 13.00) which was refreshing and overall enjoyable although it took them quite a while to prepare.

As a second drink, I went for the “Rosacées (eau de vie de coing Miclot, poiré Christian Drouin, sirop de sucre de canne)” (EUR 13.00) which was honestly a bit too much on the watery side but still overall enjoyable.

The bar was super busy but the good thing compared to a lot of other similar bars was the fact that more than one guy was able to mix a drink which usually leads to tremendous waiting times which are something which make the whole bar experience not such a pleasant one anymore.

So, despite the fact that you miss the element of ‘surprise’ when you come after midnight, I can still recommend you to try the Aedaen place since it’s lovely in terms of interior and vibrant and serving a lot of tasty drinks. Just a note, booking in advance is not possible.
