15. April 2011: Café next to Galata Tower

| April 19, 2011 | 0 Comments

Tasty and strong Turkish tea (black tea) is what you get in the Café next to the Galata Tower. The tea definitely needs to be enjoyed with a lot of sugar as otherwise it is too bitter to drink (at least in my opinion). The tea is served pretty quickly after you’ve ordered it and it is also pretty fair in price (around 2.5 TL for one tea).

The waiters are not too friendly really but that could also be a question of lack of language talent. What is nice though is the area where you sit down. Especially as it is next to the Galata Tower (which is not worth seeing itself but you should definitely get on top of it (costs 11 TL) and enjoy the marvellous view all over the city. It is really worth it!

Overall the Café next to the Galata Tower is a nice place where you get cheap, good tea and it is especially practical if you’re going to the Galata Tower and are maybe facing a long queue to get to the top of the Galata Tower. Otherwise, it is not worth going to that exact café as the same kind of tea is served all over Istanbul.
