Lovely for a quick Italian lunch: Restaurant Voglia di Vino (29. October 2021)

| January 2, 2022 | 0 Comments

The Voglia di Vino was more of a random find but actually a surprisingly good one, especially since it’s not that damn easy to find anything which still serves food at 3pm. Once seated, we got the menu right away and were given some butter and carrot cream as an amuse bouche which was quite nice.

As a little starter to trigger my taste buds, I went for the “Fassona veal raw meat, ricotta cheese, hazelnut” (EUR 15.00) which was intense in terms of flavor of the meat but it was also tender and overall very enjoyable.

The “Tajarin, funghi Porcini (fresh hand-made tajarin, Porcini mushrooms)” (EUR 25.00) on the other hand was exquisite. The pasta was cooked perfectly al dente as it should be and was very enjoyable in terms of flavor. Still, EUR 25.00 for the size of the dish (even if there are fresh Porcini) is a bit much.

Although I had hoped to get a dish which would be a bit more creative, I got exactly what the menu said: “acciughe Cantabrico, burro, crostini” (EUR 15.00). So, basically anchovies, butter, and toasted bread. And it was exactly that. I mean, I love anchovies which is why I had ordered it but EUR 15.00 for that seems a bit extreme.

The place is lovely though and the service is generally good too – sometimes you have to wait a bit since I believe they were mentally already on their break but else it was lovely.

All in all, I can recommend you to have a quick lunch at the Voglia di Vino since the food is good, prices are okay, the place is nice and the service is friendly and swift. It might be advisable though to book a table in advance if you intend to go during the weekend since during the truffle fair season, everything is absolutely packed and booked out.
