15. April 2011: 5. Kat Bar
The 5. Kat Bar is on the 5th floor (I suppose Kat means floor) and has a roof top bar too from which you can look all over the bosporus. It is really beautiful and the view is just great. Unfortunately, the pictures are a bit dark but you should just imagine, how great it is when it’s dark outside and you can see the city in it’s beauty full of light in the evening.
The roof top bar is nice when it comes to the design as it is modernly held, but pretty simple too. Overall, it is nice and I suppose it gets even nicer when you’re there a bit later in summer as it was a bit cold up there. The drinks you have to get downstairs (where there is also a restaurant) where it is also pretty nice. If you’re planning to get a table there (just to sit down properly) you should reserve in advance. The beer is fair in price (around 6 TL) and the waiters are doing their job – but not much more.
The entrance to the 5. Kat Bar is not that easy to find but when you approach it, you can identify it because of the sign which is installed outside.
Overall, the 5. Kat Bar is a great place to have a couple of drinks on the roof top bar in the evening because you get to see all over the Bosporus which is just beautiful. The interior one floor below is also pretty nice and the crowd is okay too. The prices are fair and the waiters do their job. I can definitely recommend going there just for the view – it’s truly nice!
