A decent alternative to an executive lounge: Bar 26 @ Hotel Berlin Central District (9. November 2021)

| January 26, 2022 | 0 Comments

The Bar 26 acts as an executive lounge for status guests which is a bit weird since it mixes regular bar guests with status guests offering the exact same menu. Now, you get to pick from all the foods in there but you’re not charged which is a pretty sweet deal. I went for the “Buffalo Mozzarella (tomato, bread, vegetables, basil pesto, balsamic reduction)” (usually EUR 12.00) which was refreshing in terms of quality although a bit heavy on the pesto.

The “hummus (chick peas, lentils, vegetable sticks, tortilla bread)” (usually EUR 10.00) on the other side was actually super enjoyable, i.e., there was a regular hummus and a curry-based hummus of which both were nice in terms of taste. The vegetables sticks worked well (but could have been more) while the tortilla bread wasn’t all that amazing. But in any case, at least you had enough stuff to scoop up the hummus.

The place is relatively simple in terms of atmosphere, but it reminds you of a bar in the 70ies or 80ies which has its very own charm.

The staff in the bar/lounge is super friendly and attentive – however, not that quick and a bit forgetful. I got some bread but had to ask again for the tomato salad since that never showed up – somehow.

All in all, the Bar 26 is a good alternative as an executive lounge and definitely a place I can recommend you to frequent when you stay at the Hotel Berlin Central District.
