16. April 2011: Restaurant under Galata Kpr.

| April 21, 2011 | 0 Comments

The fish is astonishingly good in the tourist places under the Galata Kpr. bridge – something I wouldn’t have expected. But you have to be firm in order to ensure that you’re not being ripped off. A portion of tuna costs 18 TL which is somewhat okay compared to Swiss prices but really expensive if you compare it to Turkish prices. To be honst, the Tuna was not bad but it was nothing really special either and it was a bit too dry for my personal taste.

The waiters try to be friendly but they’re mainly trying to sell you more in order to maximize their profit. In the end it’s your own fault if you walk in but if you do so, you should be aware of that when you walk in. The atmosphere is not really great either – the only thing which makes it worth going is that you’re basically sitting “on the water” and you get to have a look all over the bosporus.

Personally, I wouldn’t go there again – it’s nothing special, it’s full of tourists, it’s way too expensive and – okay – the food is okay but the waiters are annoying and just keep trying to sell you more – not really a comfortable feeling.
