Definitely cool but not that mind-blowing: Lufthansa First Class Terminal (14. November 2021)

To visit the First Class Terminal in Frankfurt had been on my to do list for quite some time and since there are quite a few good options to fly from Zurich I haven’t been to Frankfurt flying First since 2018. But finally, when going to Mexico, it was time to give the First Class Terminal a try. I was all excited that my connecting flight from Zurich had an outside position so I wouldn’t have to walk much but Corona kind of ruined that …

… since they are, apparently, not allowed to drive to the Terminal anymore and you have to exit Terminal 1 and walk there by foot (which is kind of fucked up to be honest since it’s not really anything like First Class service). And the argument “we’re not allowed to drive you there” is somewhat confusing since, uhm, hello? You’re allowed to drive me from the Terminal to the plane, so why wouldn’t you be allowed to drive me from the plane to the Terminal?

Once you enter though, you understand why people appreciate the place. The wine selection is decent and definitely something you can enjoy. At least I did!

Like in the other First class lounges there is a restaurant which offers stuff to pick as well as a proper à la carte menu. Since I had been eating basically the whole day since the early morning I skipped the stuff to pick and went for the à la carte restaurant right away.

Besides the restaurant, there is also a bar which is quite appealing in terms of …

… what it has to offer, namely, a whole lot of different tasty drinks and especially whiskeys.

Since I had been eating way too much already, I went for the “Tom Ka Gai (chicken breast, mushroom, coconut milk, chili)” only and skipped the mains and it was as good as the last time I had one in a First Class Lounge in Frankfurt. Actually very good!

The First class terminal offers a whole lot of different areas including a rather nice and spacious seating area …

… as well as a relaxation area which is super nice in terms of comfort. The chairs are moving to music and make it super nice in terms of music being played and making it perfect to relax.

Other than that there is a Cigar Lounge where you can pick your cigars which is super awesome but I didn’t manage to smoke a cigar before flying 12 hours – next time maybe.

What I liked a lot about the place is the fact that you’re checked in super easily, walk through security in no time, are right in the lounge and there is a personal assistant taking care of all your requests and makes sure that she shows up shortly before boarding and brings you, by car, to your gate and you can skip the lines. That’s how traveling is super relaxing and a lot of fun! Just how it should be!
