Decent but simple dishes with friendly service: Restaurant Mundo Iberico (9. December 2021)

Sometimes you just want to eat something simple and the Mundo Iberico offers that. I went for the “tostada (pan con tomate)” (EUR 4.50) to start but also to have something with the cold cuts I was about to order.

I went for a “1/2 Porcion Jamon Bellota Huelva” (EUR 15.00) which was nice since it was freshly cut and it was very aromatic.

The “1/4 Porcion Chorizo de belotta natural” (EUR 4.00) and the “1/4 Porcion Morcilla de calabaza (ahumada, picante)” (EUR 2.00) are definitely a good add to some cold cuts. However, you have to keep in mind that a 1/4 portion is already quite big. I liked the chorizo, the morcilla was somewhat a bit different than expected although still good. It was definitely too much though.

The “croquetas de jamón” (EUR 3.00; EUR 1.50/piece) were fine too – they could have been a bit crustier and crunchier on the outside but else they were fine.

The “empanadilla de pluma ibérica y BBQ casera” (EUR 3.00) was not only rather large but I was also surprised it was served with something as ordinary as ketchup. In any case, the empanadilla was overall enjoyable.

The “ropa vieja de carrillera ibérica” (EUR 9.50) was another dish I actually enjoyed quite a lot. The smoothness and intensity of the flavor of the meat were great. The chick peas which were coming with it were fine as well but a bit too many for my personal gusto.

The place is overall rather simple but has an open kitchen where you can watch them prepare your food orders. That is always something which I enjoy quite a lot. The staff was not only friendly and helpful but they are also not trying to rip you off since when I wanted to order more food initially, they told me clearly that it would be too much.

All in all, the Mundo Iberico is a simple place which offers simple but tasty dishes for a fair price. So, if you want to get some traditional cuisine, then the Mundo Iberico is definitely a good selection.
