Decent food offer for Marriott Bonvoy Elite members: Ellipse Lounge @ Sheraton Berlin Grand Hotel Esplanade (14. February 2022)
Since the Sheraton hasn’t opened its Executive Lounge yet, they offer you one dish and one drink at the Ellipse lounge in the lobby. I went for the “caesar salad (caesar dressing, bacon, bread chip, parmesan)” (EUR 11.00) with added “pan-fried chicken breast” (EUR 7.00) which was not only served swiftly but turned out to be better than I had expected. The chicken was plenty and actually also quite okay in terms of quality. And the salad wasn’t just ice berg salad (like so often) but a bit enriched with tomatoes and croutons.
The bread you get on the side helps to fill your stomach but wouldn’t really be needed.
The place isn’t very atmospheric but it does the trick in terms of getting something in your stomach quickly. The service on the other hand is friendly and makes sure you get what you need within a short timeframe (which is quite lovely). So, if you have status with Marriott Bonvoy, it’s definitely fair to eat a bit of something when you’re staying at the hotel.
