Happy I’ve tried ‘cholera’ but won’t return: Restaurant Fee Chäller (12. March 2022)

| April 29, 2022 | 0 Comments

Turns out that I kind of accidentally ended up in the “same” restaurant. Technically, that’s not true since they are two separate restaurants but the “La Ferme” and the Fee Chäller actually belong to the same owner, the same building, and I think they even have the same kitchen which serves the guests since the menu is the same for both restaurants. To try something truly local, I went for the “Cholera on blue du valais sauce (puff pastries with potatoes, apple and bacon)” (CHF 18.50) which was a super big portion and mega heavy. Also, not entirely to my liking but glad I tried the “cholera” since I actually haven’t tried it before.

The “fisherman’s rösti with smoked salmon, onion rings and herbs curd” (CHF 26.50) on the other hand was … let’s say “interesting”. The salmon per se was okay. The roesti per se was okay too. The onion per se as well. But somehow I found the combination of things quite, let’s say, weird. I mean, not sure how smoked salmon and roesti and salmon go together. Or, let me put it that way, they don’t really.

The place is okay – not as nice as the “La Ferme”. A bit more traditional, a bit more “oldish”. The service personnel is friendly but they were a bit overwhelmed with the large group we were, so it turned out we had to wait quite a bit longer than for lunch at La Ferme. All in all, the Fee Chäller ain’t really a place I would visit again. Maybe it depended on the choice of dishes I made (since the La Ferme is the kitchen) but I wouldn’t recommend the Fee Chäller again.
