A delicious place to stop for a tasty little bite: Rooftop Terrace @ Hotel Boutique Casa Cacao Girona (26. March 2022)

| May 4, 2022 | 0 Comments

When you come from Paris and are absolutely starving but you’re staying at a nice hotel with a lovely rooftop terrace, then you should definitely take advantage of that. The Boutique Hotel Casa Cacao offers exactly that. They offer a small selection of different foods like the “selection of cheeses” (EUR 19.00) which is actually a quite nice combination of five different cheeses with quite amazing bread.

The “anchovies” (EUR 16.00) are tasty but they are definitely overpriced for what you get. I mean, EUR 2.66 per anchovy, even if they are tasty, is just a plain rip-off. Other than that, they are good.

The “Jamon Iberico” (EUR 27.00) and the “croquetas de jamón” (EUR 8.00) on the other hand are more along the lines of what food in Spain should cost. The fact that it’s served with “pan con tomate” really makes it quite great since the bread was actually delicious.

The place itself is lovely since it’s a rooftop which has an interior part (where breakfast is served) as well as an actual terrace where you have a view onto the city of Girona. Plus, if you want you get to watch what they do in the kitchen – which is always a good sign.

Although I’m not a big fan of chocolate, I really like the place. They pay a lot of attention to detail. To be fair, with EUR 300.00 per night for a Junior Suite, it’s not exactly on the cheap side of things but it’s worth paying since the place is lovely, the staff is super friendly and welcoming and they make sure you have everything you want and need at all times.

If you do a trip to Girona, I can definitely recommend you to stay at the Casa Cacao and try some dishes on their rooftop terrace.
