Delicious breakfast selection: Breakfast Restaurant @ Hotel Boutique Casa Cacao Girona (27. March 2022)
When you stay at the Hotel Boutique Casa Cacao Girona, you should definitely take advantage of their breakfast (EUR 37.00) which is included in the room rate. The place is lovely and is basically on the 4th floor and in summer you have the chance to also have breakfast outside. Unfortunately, the weather did not allow for this but maybe another day.
You do not get to select what you want to eat but they just serve you specific things. The first course is “yogurt, chocolates and kiwi jam” which you can mix together and despite the fact that I’m not a huge fan of chocolates, the first course was actually quite delicious.
Part of the first course are fresh red berries which you can have with “40% chocolate sauce”. Now, again, chocolate is not my fav but I decided to try. The amount of chocolate on my berries was more a result of a brief misunderstanding where too much chocolate ended up on my berries.
Second in line is a selection of “cheese, bread, jamón, and paté”. And I must say that this is the part I absolutely loved. The quality of the ingredients is exquisite, the food is delicious, and despite the fact that it looks relatively small, it’s a more than decent portion so you’re definitely ending up having enough.
But there is a third course which is kind of a breaded and fried egg with artichokes and sauce.
Which looks even more beautiful once you have opened it. I must admit, I truly liked it – it’s intense, it’s egg-y, but it’s tasty!
Last but not least, you get a selection of different chocolate nibbles plus a liquid Mexican chocolate to drink. Definitely way too much chocolate for me but if you like it, it’s perfect.
All in all, the place is lovely and the breakfast selection they are offering is great. The quality is high and definitely enjoyable – personally, too much on the sweet side of things but if you’re into that you’ll enjoy it a lot.
