Talking about hyped places, here it is: Gelateria Rocambolesc Girona (27. March 2022)
I have been to the Rocambolesc in Barcelona twice (Jan 2020 and July 2020), so I was very curious to try the Rocambolesc (the gelateria by Jordi Can Roca) in Girona. And, not surprisingly, there was a small line when trying to get an icecream (keep in mind, the weather wasn’t great so I assume the line is much longer in summer).
Of course, they would serve ice cream (gelats in Catalan) …
… and you would see how nice the place looks once you enter. A lot of decoration, and somehow really appealing.
And the fact that you can chose from a variety of different topics …
… is definitely something appealing if you like it. I am more of a purist when it comes to ice cream so I went for the “ice cream cup with frozen yogurt” (EUR 3.00) which was decent. Nothing exciting, nothing spectacular, but decent. I suppose, if you want to have the Can Roca experience, you should get some toppings or a “pre-defined ice cream cup” whihc is designed by Jordi.
All in all, the Rocambolesc Girona looks great but it was not as nice an ice cream experience as the one in Barcelona. In any case, if you haven’t been to either and you happen to be in Girona, I can also reocmmend you to pay this place a visit since it’s kind of a “must visit”.
