Decent but not even close to the Restaurant Tim Raue: Restaurant Brasserie Colette Tim Raue (21. April 2022)

| May 22, 2022 | 0 Comments

Somehow, the Brasserie Colette by Tim Raue has been on my to-do list for quite a while – and I finally managed to visit this place. Once you’re seated you get “bread, butter and sweet pickled cucumbers” which is quite a nice way to get your dinner started.

They offer sardines as a starter and if that is on the menu, I’m more than happy to try some! I not only because I actually like the taste but also because the cans are often so pretty.

I went for the “sardines with Oriental spices, brioche and lemon” (EUR 16.00) and I must say that they were actually super enjoyable. And, compared to any other sardines I’ve had, these were warm, which made them even more enjoyable somehow.

The small salad which was served with it was totally decent, but nothing mind-blowing.

As a main, I went for the “beef filet with Steak fries, sauce Béarnaise, mesclun” (EUR 38.00) and that was okay but nothing more than that. The beef filet was done medium as requested – the fries, however, were a bit too stroppy for my personal gusto. And the sauce Béarnaise was fine but, again, nothing extraordinary.

The way to the toilet is usually something I do not really take a picture of, but in this case, it was worth doing so. I mean, the hand throne is really somewhat funny.

The place itself was crowded, so booking in advance is a must. On top of that, the service is friendly, but you have to wait a bit in the beginning until someone attends you. All in all, the Brasserie Colette Tim Raue is good, but definitely not in the vicinity of the Restaurant Tim Raue.
