Perfect for elaborate after-dinner drinks: The Gin Room (22. April 2022)
If you’re not in central Berlin, it is not entirely easy finding a nice bar which isn’t run down. Luckily, there was one in the vicinity of the restaurant, called The Gin Room. And luckily, there was still space when I walked in around midnight. The bar isn’t huge and offers seats for maybe 20-30 people. They are specialized in Gin, so I figured it would be the right thing to try a gin-based drink, and I went for “The Traveller (Amuerte Black Gin, Pisco, Ancho Reyes Chili Liquor, Lime Juice, Elderflower Syrup, Egg White)” (EUR 12.50) which did not only look enjoyable, it also was!
Since I somehow didn’t feel like going through the menu over and over again, luckily the waiter, Diego, was very helpful throughout the evening and prepared a few drinks for me based on the description of what I liked. And I must say, with all of them, he kind of aced it. The smokey mescal he also brought me (not in the pictures) was definitely an interesting experience, as it was very smooth despite its 43 degrees alcohol.
The place is nice but still somewhat simple – a great location to rest and enjoy a couple of drinks.
All in all, I can definitely recommend you to visit The Gin Room if you’re looking for a nice place to enjoy a couple of drinks. Just make sure you book in advance!
