Decent for tapas and great for people watching: Restaurant Boatella Tapas (6. May 2022)

| June 6, 2022 | 0 Comments

It is super easy to find something to eat – it is not that easy to find a place which isn’t super touristic in the centre of Valencia. But, ultimately, if you’re hungry, you’ll end up going anywhere to get some decent food and despite the fact that the Boatella Tapas looks rather run down if you look at it from the outside, we decided to have a seat and go for a couple of tapas. To start, we went for the “Pimientos de Padron” (EUR 4.50) and the “Morcilla” (EUR 4.50). The pimientos de padrón were tasty and the morcilla was indeed great. I mean, the French fries with which they were served weren’t really what one would call tasty but the morcilla itself was great.

The “Jamón” (EUR 10.00) was rather disappointing overall but I guess if you ask for jamón and don’t specify that you want jamón Iberico, it’s fair that they serve you jamón serrano.

Last but not least, the “croquettas de bacalao” (EUR 6.50) were absolutely fine as they were not too dry inside as these cod fish croquettes so often are but were actually quite enjoyable – and surprisingly big in terms of size.

The place isn’t anything fancy in terms of design but the waiters are friendly, swift, and make sure you get everything you need and want within a decent period of time. And it’s, location-wise, quite perfect for people watching. Nothing more than that, but also nothing less.
