Quite a decent and healthy breakfast option: Restaurant Panem Café & Bakery (21. May 2022)
Finding a place which serves breakfast isn’t that tricky in Dublin. However, finding a place which serves breakfast and has available seating on a Saturday morning turned out to be quite tricky. Finally, we scored the last table at the Panem Café & Bakery and considered ourselves lucky since the place is simple but nice, the service is friendly, and the atmosphere is decent. However, when it comes to providing the dishes you’ve ordered, you better be ready to wait awhile. It took them a solid 35 minutes to prepare the “Brunch Special (two free-range poached eggs, smoked salmon, herb cherry tomatoes, sweet chilli jam potatoes and sliced avocado served with toasted brown sourdough bread)” (EUR 14.50). I mean, I appreciate freshness, but how the heck does this dish need 35 minutes to be prepared?
In any case, the dish is tasty, definitely healthy, and makes sure you’re hungry again two hours later. Other than that, the Panem Café & Bakery is worth a visit.
