A lovely streetfood experience where you’d not really expect it: Thai Street Food im Preußenpark (29. May 2022)
To be fair, the Preußenpark is not necessarily a place I would just walk to from afar since the park itself doesn’t really have anything to offer, as a park. However, since I was in its vicinity, it was time to pay it a visit, and it turned out to be quite amazing since every Friday till Sunday, they have a lot of different street food stalls where they prepare lovely Thai snacks for very fair prices in these streetfood tents.
I went for “mixed dumplings (red dumplings with beef, yellow dumplings with chicken, purple dumplings with lamb, green dumplings with vegetables)” (EUR 5.00) which looked quite nice – and were also great. Only the vegetable dumpling was a bit too doughy for my personal gusto, but all the others were great.
For the “Laab Ped (salad with minced duck meat with Thai seasoning, served spicy with chilli, lemon grass and coriander, salad and mint leaves)” (EUR 8.50) I went to another tent – and when the lady had asked me, if I wanted it spicy, I should have known better. But of course, I said yes – and I enjoyed it a lot while eating. Tasty, crunchy, full of flavour! Really enjoyable!
If you are in the vicinity of the Preußenpark, I can definitely recommend you to pay the place a visit since they have great food for very fair prices – and there are plenty different tents you can try your food from. Highly recommended!
