Not only tasty dishes but also quite a nice location: Restaurant Yauatacha (16. October 2022)

| November 30, 2022 | 0 Comments

The Yauatacha is a nice change to what you usually get in Riyadh – the place is lovely and offers quite a good selection of different dishes. Once you’re seated and got your menu, you’re getting a few pickled vegetables which is quite nice with some spicy dips.

I went for the “crispy duck salad (pomegranate, pomelo, pine nuts)” (125.00 SAR) which was absolutely lovely. The only pity was that the duck was shredded, which made it missing the ‘big pieces’.

The “spicy Szechuan wonton (prawn, peanut)” (55.00 SAR) were definitely quite interesting, but not as spicy as I had expected. However, a nice stuffing which was truly enjoyable.

The “classic steamed dim sum (Har gau (prawn, bamboo shoot), Chilean sea bass dumping (prawn, asparagus, coriander), Seafood black truffle dumpling (crab, scallop, prawn)” (105.00 SAR) was a nice selection of dim sums. Not really anything I was too used to in terms of flavour profile, but definitely lovely in terms of colouring and definitely interesting in terms of taste.

What I actually liked kind of the most, were the “pan-fried curry chicken bao (water chestnut)” (50.00 SAR) which were tasty little breads filled with curry. Quite a nice bite since you would have the intensity of the curry wrapped inside a nice little tasty dough.

But the place is not only nice in terms of food, but also in terms of interior …

… and you get an interesting view onto the streets of Riyadh.

All in all, I can recommend the Yauatacha since it’s a nice restaurant with good food, in a lovely atmosphere, super friendly and competent service, and fair prices, all in all. Make sure you book your table in advance as the place was quite crowded when I came in and was even more crowded when I had left.
