A lovely atmosphere and a simple but great lunch menu: Restaurant Spiritmuseum (21. October 2022)
After two weeks in Saudi Arabia, I was keen to try some non-Middle Eastern dishes, and what better place to do so than Stockholm?! The ‘Spiritmuseum’ is a museum dedicated to, as the name suggests, spirits, so booze. But it also has a nice little restaurant to the side which offers a small menu. Once you’re seated you are served some “bread & butter” and I must say the quality of the bread is great, and the salted butter does it’s part to make it a delicious combination.
As a starter, I went for “chicken rillettes with black cabbage, onion and tarragon mayonnaise” (105.00 SEK) and that was actually quite delicious. The combination of flavours and of textures worked very well together, and you would be happily digging into it.
As a main, I went for the “fried ling with saffron braised fennel, beurre blanc & dill” (155.00 SEK) and while the ling was great as well as the saffron braised fennel, the dish wasn’t really that balanced since the saffron braised fennel was definitely too much in terms of portion size.
The place is simple, Nordic classical design which was overall appealing and makes you feel comfortable.
All in all, the Restaurant Spiritmuseum offers you a great lunch experience in a nice setting, with view onto the ocean (if you manage to get a table by the window). Make sure to book in advance, as the place isn’t large, and the tables started filling up quite swiftly.
