A nice Thai food experience in the middle of Stockholm: Restaurant Tjabba Thai (23. October 2022)
Before calling it a day in Stockholm and heading back home, we felt like eating something, which would create a homey feeling in your stomach. And the Tjabba Thai did exactly that. I went for the “Tom Yam Gong (tom-yam soup with prawn, mushroom, lime leaf, tomatoes, lemongrass, galangal root, and coriander)” (149.00 SEK) as a starter which turned out to be a massive portion where you wouldn’t really need a main afterwards. In any case, it was absolutely tasty and quite intense in flavour (and rather spicy, so not for the weak hearted).
Since I didn’t know the starter would be that big, I ordered a main: “Ga Phrao Nua (stir-fried beef with spicy basil, chilli, garlic and long beans)” (239.00 SEK) which was quite lovely and came with a huge bowl of rice. This was the part I could not finish since it was just too much. But the meal itself was great – good meat, nicely spicy, well seasoned, and overall quite lovely.
The interior is super simple and more like a regular restaurant (nothing fancy) but clean and orderly. The staff is very friendly and attentive and made sure we got everything we needed at all times. So, if you’re in Stockholm and are looking for some proper Thai food, then the Tjabba Thai is definitely a good place to visit.
