Great food and service but overpriced: Restaurant Drouant (6. November 2022)
It’s not as easy as I had expected to find a restaurant in Paris on a Sunday evening which is open – and has a decent rating. The Drouant is open and has a decent rating, and, generally, rightly so. I went for the “crispy langoustines, creamy spicy sauce” (EUR 22.00) which were nice. But the portion is somewhat tiny, and it felt like paying EUR 5.50 for one of these small rolls is a rip-off, even if they are stuffed with langoustines.
The “cod wilted spinach, scamorza” (EUR 39.00) was okay. Again, the price is not justified for what you get. Not bad, but far from exceptional, really.
At least the place is lovely, and the service is good. In terms of what you get (especially in terms of portion size) for what you pay, I’m not entirely aligned and find it too expensive. Other than that, the Drouant is quite nice and generally speaking worth visiting.
