A nice pool bar with good but expensive shisha: La Baie Lounge @ Ritz Carlton (11. November 2022)
The La Baie Lounge is also known as ‘Fuma’ on Google Maps, which is why I ended up there, since it was supposed to offer shisha.
To eat, I went for the “White Miso marinated Salmon Slider (wasabi mayo, Asian slaw)” (80.00 AED), which were quite lovely and actually quite tasty to enjoy. The salmon was glazed with miso which added quite a delicious twist to the sliders. The slaw was working well in the sliders, however, when it came to portioning, there was too much of it in the slider.
As a second dish, I had ordered the “cucumber salad with dill” (35.00 AED) which was absolutely simple, but it was also good, so, a solid, simple but tasty salad.
What I liked the most was the shisha. The “Exclusive Double Apple Shisha” (230.00 AED) was served rather quickly and was actually nice. The shisha guy wasn’t the one who knew the most about shisha, though – blowing out the shisha head was not in his repertoire, even if I had specifically asked him to do it.
All in all, the La Baie Lounge is a nice location which is mainly accessible to hotel guests to go and enjoy the beach and the pool. However, if you make clear you only want to eat something, they let you in and ‘gift’ you with a red wristband. In terms of food, the offering and quality are good, but everything is on the pricier side of things.
