Not only great in summer but also lovely when sitting inside in autumn: Restaurant PURO – The Social Club (28. November 2022)

| January 22, 2023 | 0 Comments

It’s a good 6 months ago since I’ve last been to the PURO, and it turns out it’s not only nice when you’re sitting outside in the patio in summer, but the place also works quite well in winter. The restaurant is located on the first floor, and we were welcomed quite quickly and friendly by the waitress. I decided to go for something I would not eat every day, so I went for the “artichokes ‘Liguria’ (braised, shortly cooked, Ligurian artichoke-hearts, served with home-made carrot ginger purrée)” (CHF 25.00) which was not really what I had imagine in terms of the dish, but which turned out to be quite enjoyable in the end.

Since making good pasta isn’t an easy task, I decided to go for pasta and try if they would be great. The “Tagliolini All’uovo (home-made pasta with a light, classical cream sauce)” (CHF 21.00) were cooked perfectly al dente – so really what you want and need when it comes to pasta.

Since I felt like I deserved a trait, I decided to also go for the “Tartufo Bianco (fresh, white truffle from Italy)” (CHF 14.00) but not more than 1 gram since it was really quite a price. In any case, that one gram added a bit of flavour to the pasta and made it even more enjoyable.

The place is nice, the tables are a bit apart, so you can have a conversation which is private in public (at least to some extent). Other than that, the service is absolutely exquisite – they are friendly, attentive, and swift. All in all, I can definitely recommend the Puro for lunch. Make sure to book your table in advance, though!
