Simple, swift, and tasty dishes for a fair price: Restaurant Baozi (14. December 2022)
I wanted to find a place which was still open after 10pm and was rated decently, so I ended up in the Baozi. What wasn’t too clear to me, was the fact that the place is more a kind of food joint and not really a proper restaurant. However, once you’re seated, they take up your order quite swiftly. I went for two baos, since the place was called ‘Baozi’, so it seemed to be their signature dish. More specifically, I went for the “brisket charcoal bao” (21.00 SAR) and the “loca chicken bao” (17.00 SAR). The first one was quite delicious, although a bit heavy on the coleslaw. The second one was probably fine too, but had just too much crispy, which would kind of kill the rest of the flavours.
As a main, which was served first though, I went for the “steak noodles” (55.00 SAR), which looked like a not so generous portion of meat, but turned out to be quite generous (the rest of the meat was hidden below the noodles) and actually quite tasty too.
The place is simple, yet has its very own appeal.
So, if you are up for a quick bite, which is tasty, and very fair in price, then the Baozi isn’t a bad choice.
