A lovely place for a good business lunch: Restaurant Carlton (19. December 2022)
I think I’ve never been to the Carlton Restaurant and I must say that I was absolutely positively surprised! The place is super lovely in terms of interior design, and actually quite appealing overall. Once you’re seated and have placed your order, you’re brought some “bread and spread” which is quite good.
I wanted to go for another soup, but they had run out of it, so I decided to go for the “lobster bisque (lobster bisque, Cayenne pepper, shellfish, crème fraîche)” (CHF 19.00) which was quite tasty. Frankly, the portion was a bit tiny, though. Good for a starter, but somewhat small for the price.
The “home-made taglierini (spinach, mushrooms, steamed egg)” (CHF 36.00) looked like quite a tiny portion at first, but turned out to be more than enough. Other than that, the noodles were cooked perfectly al dente, and the mixture of spinach, mushrooms, and the steamed egg was quite perfect really.
While I definitely didn’t really have the Carlton on my agenda, it will for sure become a restaurant I’ll keep visiting more and more going forward. If you go for lunch, you should make sure to book your table well in advance, though.
