A healthy, but unexciting option: Restaurant Zest @ Pine Cliffs Hotel, a Luxury Collection Resort, Algarve (27. December 2022)
The Zest is the healthy option at the Pine Cliffs – but it’s more of a take-away than a proper restaurant. There is a food counter to which you have to go up to, to place your order, and then it will subsequently be delivered to your table. I went for the “salada proteíca (fresh tuna, romaine, baby spinach, chickpeas, red onion, corn, carrot, organic boiled egg, tuna, sourdough croutons, cucumber ranch dressing)” (EUR 19.00) with “additional chicken” (+EUR 5.00) and I must say it’s a good and tasty option, but it’s also nothing special. Sure, it’s healthy, but it lacks excitement when it comes to the flavour profile.
The place is somewhat nice inside, i.e., green, and modern, so definitely something you would like while sitting down and enjoying your meal, however, it’s a bit cold inside.
The place is located on Lemon Square, which is basically a nice little square with a lot of lemon trees and lovely to sit outside if you come at the right time of the day, i.e., when it’s sunny.
The staff is friendly and make sure you get your food in time. All in all, the Zest is quite healthy and definitely not a bad option, but also nothing overly exciting.
