Quite an exquisite selection of dishes with professional service: Restaurant Parrilla Natural (6. January 2023)

I had driven by the Parrilla Natural the previous day and was intrigued by the property, so I decided to pay this place a visit. Once you’re entering, you are pulled into a professionally organized service exercise. All waiters and waitresses have headphones through which they coordinate the drinks orders as well as calling for the next course, which I found a bit of an overkill since the place wasn’t massive (but I suppose in summer you would also sit outside, so it would be much more crowded).

I went for the “empanadas (‘BBQ pulled pork’ and ‘cheese, onion & oregano’)” (EUR 10.00) and the “croquetas (‘chicken piri-piri with spicy chilli lime mayo’ and ‘lamb croquettes with mint mayo’) (EUR 10.00) and I must say, despite the fact that I found it only semi-appealing optically, I actually liked it quite a lot. The empanadas were of a generous size and actually lovely in terms of flavour profile. I especially liked the cheese one! In regard to the croquetas, I liked that they were very different when it came to the filling, and they were not only different, but also tasty.

As a second started, I went for the “grilled chorizos (grilled mixed chorizo sausage selection, with onion chutney & corstini)” (EUR 11.00), which was absolutely down my alley. The grilled chorizo has this flavour I absolutely enjoy – somewhat intense, but at the same time quite lovely. And they went well with the respective sauce.

As a main, finally, I ordered too much! The “bife angosto (300gr)” (EUR 30.00) was cooked perfectly medium and was actually just a excellent piece of meat. The “ensalada familiar” (EUR 8.00) turned out to be the family portion of a salad, so I had it to go the next day, and it was actually quite good. The “green peas with mint” (EUR 5.00) were lovely and so were the “green beans” (EUR 4.00) – frankly, I loved the whole dish. And on top of that, the “sauce Bérnaise” (EUR 2.50) as well as the “roasted aioli sauce” (EUR 2.50) were both enjoyable and went well with the meat.

So, to sum it up, I was expecting a rather average dining experience and was quite positively surprised how the evening turned out. The place is nice, the service is great, and the dishes are actually super enjoyable. While I had definitely not expected that, I must say, that I can definitely recommend you to visit the Parrilla Natural.
