A solid steakhouse experience in central Warsaw: Restaurant Butchery & Wine (15. January 2023)

It was time for a last meal in Warsaw, so I went for something more classical, a steakhouse! Since it was my only main meal, I decided again to try quite a bit, and started with the “baby gem salad with anchovies dressing and Parmesan” (29 PLN), which was quite nice, especially, since the Parmesan was really finely grated and wasn’t overlapping the flavours of the rest of the dish. On top of that, the anchovies weren’t overwhelming either.

The second course was the “roasted bone marrow with parsley salad and grilled bread” (35 PLN) and I must say, it was good. Looking at the bone marrow itself, I’ve had better! Looking at the combination, I must say, I quite enjoyed it. The parsley salad with capers and onions really worked well with the bone marrow and the grilled bread! So, I was in the mood for the proper main course.

And proper it was! The “rib eye steak (Hereford Uruguay, 300gr)” (160 PLN) served with “sauce Béarnaise” (7 PLN), “green beans with confit shallots” (20 PLN) and “spinach sauté” (21 PLN) was nice. The meat was perfectly cooked to the requested temperature, the flavour profile was great, and the side dishes were delicious too. Especially, the green beans were quite to my liking!

The place is setup a bit funny, since it actually is somehow two separate establishments. I firstly walked into the ‘wrong’ one and was then directed to the other one. Inside, they are quite similar, so it doesn’t really matter where you book. I was in the one on the left (if you stand in front of it) and I must say, the waiters were professional and friendly throughout the entire experience.

I also liked the decoration since it reminds me of that one beef place I’ve been to years ago in Prague. Cestr, which I have been to 9.5 years ago.

The place isn’t too appealing from the outside, but it’s worth walking in …

… but I would recommend you to book a table in advance, since, despite the fact that I went there at 3pm where you would not expect to see an abundance of guests, there were quite a few tables occupied and people kept coming.
