Lovely rooftop restaurant with quite decent dishes: Restaurant Perruche (6. March 2023)

| May 19, 2023 | 0 Comments

The Perruche is located on the rooftop of the Printemps shopping mall and is absolutely lovely when it comes to location. If you’re lucky enough, you have a nice view of the Eiffel Tower from your table. You just have to make sure to mention that in your reservation, as else the chance is relatively large that you will not get such a space.

As a starter, I went for the “fried squid, basil and garlic mayonnaise” (EUR 15.00), which was quite nice. I mean, the squid was nothing special, but the sauce with which it was served was actually quite enjoyable.

The “sea scallop carpaccio, lemon, dill” (EUR 26.00) is definitely a bit pricey, but it is surprisingly delicious. And this, despite the fact that I was absolutely not expecting something special (since I’m always a bit sceptical when it comes to scallop-based dishes).

As a main, I finally went for the “raw tuna, avocado with fresh lemon” (EUR 25.00) and while the dish itself was rather tiny, it was great in terms of flavour and texture profile.

The service is surprisingly friendly for Paris – the staff is attentive, friendly, and actually really tries to provide you with a nice experience. On top of that, they are relatively quick in serving whatever you order. The clear downside of any French bistro is the table size. I mean, if you get one plate on your table, it already feels like you’re out of space. So, as always, this is super annoying. Other than that, I must say that the Perruche is actually quite amazing.
