25. June 2011: Ristorante Pizzeria Da Paolo

| July 3, 2011 | 0 Comments

The Ristorante Pizzeria Da Paolo is supposed to be the best pizzeria in town – honestly, don’t agree. I decided to have the Pizza of the day which was a pizza with Gorgonzola, Peperoncino, and Salame Picante (CHF 23.00). The pizza was not bad but it was absolutely nothing special. The salami was a bit too oily and the pizza didn’t really taste like Gorgonzola. Overall, it was quite disappointing, especially for being supposedly the best pizzeria in Geneva. Well, I would recommend everyone who thinks so, to either do their own in a stone oven or then to go to Italy and try a good pizza.

The desert I had, a panna cotta (CHF 9.00) was not bad really, but it was also really nothing overwhelming. It served its purpose of being a desert.

The olives which were served at the beginning were good – to be honest, it was the best course of the whole evening. Well, overall, I would not recommend dining there.

The Barbera d’Alba Fratelli Giacosa (CHF 44.00) was okay too, but the final note was pretty short and, therefore, not too persuading either. The atmosphere is not really appealing either – maybe because we were placed outside where a lot of cars passed by all the time. The interior looked a bit nicer, but if you’re placed outside, it is definitely not appealing at all.

The waiter tries to be nice, but you have the feeling that somehow he does not like his job at all. Also, when we’ve asked for the bill, it takes them quite some time to finally bring you the bill.

Overall, the Ristorante Pizzeria Da Paolo is not a place I would recommend going. The food is eatable but definitely far away from being the best Pizzeria in Geneva, the waiters are not really quick and/or friendly. At least the prices are not exorbitant. Well, to be short: Don’t go if you’re looking for real, good, Italian food.
