3. December 2009: Restaurant Santa Lucia Niederdorf
The Restaurant Santa Lucia is located in the Niederdorf in Zürich and is reachable by foot only. It’s about one kilometer from the central station of Zurich away. The restaurant is quite crowded even on a Wednesday evening. If you have a little time, just go there and wait until you get a table assigned.
The way the restaurant is equipped makes you feel warm and cozy – like in a little house in the mountains. Unfortunately, the part of the restaurant where the smokers are is located close to the entry so you basically have to walk through the smoke in order to get into the restaurant.
The waiters are helpful but lack a bit of friendliness. Although not being rude, they definitely could be nicer. Also, it takes quite some time until you’re served at the table.
The dishes on the other hand are quite different: I’ve had Gnocchi with Gorgonzola sauce which wasn’t really something which tasted in any way like Gorgonzola. It was something good to eat, but definitely not Gnocchi with Gorgonzola sauce. My friend, on the other hand, had a pizza which was very delicous.
The prices are quite fair and you can’t complain about what you get for what you’re paying, at least in general.
The Santa Lucia in the Niederdorf is a good place to go if you quickly want to have something to eat.
