A delicious udon noodle experience to be repeated: Restaurant tsuru tsuru noodlebar (27. January 2024)

| May 10, 2024 | 0 Comments

While I have been to the Sala of Tokyo (among other things, for an amazing ‘tuna event’ – see here), I haven’t had a chance to go to the tsuru tsuru noodlebar yet, but finally, this worked out as well. As a starter, I went for the “salted edamame” (CHF 9.00), which was quite nice, but feels a bit expensive for steamed soybeans.

What I absolutely loved was the “Tori Karaage, yuzu kosho mayo” (CHF 21.00), since the portion was generous, the chicken was actually tasty, and last but not least, the mayo, which was served with the chicken was at least equally delicious.

Then, I figured I wanted to try something I hadn’t tried before, the “natto with chive” (CHF 7.00) and while the waitress was already surprised I would order that, I must admit, it was actually absolutely delicious!

As a mian, I decided to go for udon noodles, since the weather wasn’t the best and I needed to warm up a little. The “Karee udon noodles (vegetables in medium-spicy, Japanese curry, onsen egg)” (CHF 23.00) were exquisite. Sure, a bit intense in its curry taste, but other than that, they were absolutely excellent.

So, all in all, it’s hard to give a final assessment of the tsuru tsuru noodlebar, because I have, obviously, only tried one type of noodles this evening, but what I have tried was absolutely excellent. The place is nice and buzzing, the staff is friendly and swift, the food is great, and the prices are actually super decent. Since the place isn’t massive in terms of interior space, I would highly recommend you to book your table well in advance, as else you won’t stand a chance of finding a table on a Friday or Saturday evening.
