A place with potential, but non-coordinated service right now: Restaurant AN (1. February 2024)

| May 13, 2024 | 0 Comments

The AN is also a newly opened restaurant, I wanted to try. Hence, lunch seemed like the perfect option to do exactly that. While the interior design is nice, you can see that the place has only just opened because they are not really well-coordinated internally yet. The times between things just take too long. The water, although ordered pretty much the moment I had sat down, was served after the bread …

… which came with an absolutely lovely butter.

The lunch menu is a swift ‘bento box’ of some sort, and you can choose between a vegetarian, a meat, and a fish option. I went for the meat version of the bento box (CHF 35.00) with “Jerusalem Artichoke Soup, tuna dices, gremolata”, “crispy pork belly with green beans and fregola sarda” and I must say that the pork belly was actually very enjoyable. Now, personally, not necessarily something I would call mind-blowing, but the food was good and the fact that you get everything at the same time, is definitely a big plus.

All in all, the restaurant AN is okay – it still has a few issues mainly of organisational nature, but other than that, it has potential. Let’s see how it’ll evolve and for how long it’ll survive.
