One of the institutions of Zurich – always worth visiting, but necessary to book well in advance: Restaurant Cantinetta Antinori (6. March 2024)
I somehow always end up in the Cantinetta Antinori with the same company – and this time, we were not upstairs, but downstairs in the main area. As a starter, I went for the “spuma di tonno con crostini (tuna cream on toasted bread)” (CHF 21.00), which looks incredibly simple, and it is. But it was also absolutely tasty. Sure, it’s a bit heavy on the bread really, but other than that, it was great.
As a main, I went for the “Cappellacci di Ricotta (homemade, filled with ricotta and marjoram)” (CHF 33.00) and I must say, they were great. They could have been a bit more generous with the freshly grated Parmesan, but other than that, the pasta was cooked almost to perfection, and the stuffing was delicious.
What I really like about the place is how professional the staff is – they are superbly attentive, friendly, and really make sure you have everything you need at all times. Despite the fact that it is rather on the pricey side of things, even for Zurich, the place is always fully booked, hence, it’s key to book your table in advance.
