A nice place, but with an incredibly slow bar tender: Ojo de Maíz (27. May 2024)
After having discovered La Condesa a little by walking the Hipódromo around the Parque México, it was time to try out a place to cool down (it was scorching hot), so the Ojo de Maíz looked like a place you could visit. I went for the “Ojo de Maíz Gin and Tonic (Gin larios, sandia, blueberries, hierbabuena, jarabe natural y agua tónica)” (145 MXN), which was quite decent, but also rather intense overall.
The interior of the place is rather nice as well. It actually was lovely and is definitely inviting, so you want to spend some time there. However, to be honest, there is one thing, which is really disappointing, which is the speed of the service. It took the bar tender a good 20 minutes to prepare the above drink – which is way too long!
So, if you’re not in a hurry, the place is rather nice to visit. Just make sure you’re not running to your next appointment – that might be a blocker right there!
