Definitely an absolute must-visit, when you’re looking for great drinks in Mexico City: Casa Prunes (28. May 2024)

| September 4, 2024 | 0 Comments

The Casa Prunes definitely belongs to the bars you need to visit when you’re in Mexico City. They offer not only great drinks, but also have an amazing interior design. I went for the “Moonerang (re-destilled Roku Gin with green bean, white tea with peach, simple syrup and blue spirulina)” (260 MXN), which looked like someone squeezed a few smurfs, but was actually rather delicious.

Then, I decided to try the “Jerry Pizza (Ketel One, red fruits fermentation, honey bee and acids mix)” (250 MXN), which was perfectly to my liking – slightly sweet, but still with a nice touch. The gummy bear pizza on top was … let’s say ‘entertaining’, but definitely not necessary.

What I appreciated were the snacks – you get dried fried stripes of tortilla with a few spicy sauces – absolutely lovely!

Let’s not forget, though, that the whole experience already starts when you walk in. Before you’re even seated, you’re offered a small welcome drink – just to get the right feeling.

When you walk in, you definitely see right away how amazing the place is. It’s not huge, although it does seem rather large, but it is super appealing.

And frankly, that is true too when you are looking around being seated below.

Out of curiosity, I decided to go upstairs and sneak around a little to get a view – and it’s rather beautiful from above as well …

… since you also have a view onto the bar …

… and will find a few nice rooms when you’re up there …

… as well as an event room …

… and another bar. And on top of that, the staff is friendly, attentive, and swift.

So, frankly, to me, the Casa Prunes is definitely a place you need to visit when you are up for a drink in Mexico City.
