Nice and surprising cocktails in a lovely bar: Romeo Bistrot & Cocktail Bar (1. August 2024)

It wasn’t entirely easy to find a place, which would offer drinks in the early afternoon, hence, after a bit of searching, we finally found the Romeo Bistrot & Cocktail Bar – and to be fair, if you’re in Verona, what better name (besides maybe “Julia”) would there be. In any case, the place was simple in terms of interior design, but they offered quite a few interesting drinks. The first one I picked was the “Rosmunda (campari, vermouth del professore rosso, sciroppo di mango speziato, tonica London essence al sambuco e arancia rossa)” (EUR 10.00), which I picked mainly because of the glass. And I must say, it was actually quite enjoyable.

The second in line was the “Khan (sake allo zenzero, mela verde, succo di limone, sciroppo di lemongrass e basilico monin, soda)” (EUR 12.00), which looked incredibly simple, but actually turned out to be delicious. Sure, a bit intense, but other than that definitely one of the better drinks I’ve tried lately.

The “Carnevale (appleton 8, ancho reyes, clairin communal, succo di lime, passion fruit, pompelmo, pomodorino datterino, angostura e assenzio)” (EUR 12.00) did not only look nice, but it was actually good too. So, so far, the drinks were great. And so was the service, as the staff was super attentive and whenever you would place an order you would get your beverage served within a few minutes.

Last but not least, I went for the “Golosine (rum, amarico, ananas, passion fruit, succo di lime, honey mix, albume)” (EUR 12.00), which turned out to be a non-alcoholic drink, which I had somehow missed, when I placed the order, but they realised that this was probably not the idea, and offered to add rum to the drink – and it turned out to be another great drink. On top of that, the chilli placed on top of the egg white was actually incredibly full of flavour.

So, to sum it up, the Romeo Bistrot & Cocktail Bar is quite an amazing place for drinks – nice interior, super friendly service, and all in all, just a positive experience.
