Delicious Middle Eastern food worth trying when in Geneva: Restaurant Arabesque @ Hotel President Wilson, a Luxury Collection Hotel, Geneva (1. September 2024)
The Arabesque becomes one of the places I truly enjoy for dinner when in Geneva – because they have great Middle Eastern food, swift service, and, on average, fair prices. I went for the “Hommos Lahme (chickpea puree with thinly sliced sautéed beef with pine nuts)” (CHF 26.00), which tasted a bit differently than last time, but was actually richer than the one I had tried the other day.
The “Kellege Mechoui (pita bread stuffed with Halloumi cheese, tomatoes, and mint)” (CHF 23.00) on the other hand was nice because the halloumi wasn’t chewy (as it so often is), but the whole thing was a bit dry, hence, it would have been nice to have some kind of sauce or dip on the side.
What I liked quite a lot, as a surprise from the kitchen, was the fact that they offer you two pieces of “baklava” as a small thanks from the kitchen. So, frankly, the food is quite good, the place is simple, but somewhat appealing (although the place is rather small in terms of space) and the staff is friendly and attentive.
So, to sum it up, I can recommend the Arabesque – for sure, if you’re staying at the President Wilson, but also if you’re not staying here.
