A good Neapolitan pizza, but not my preferred pizza type: Restaurant Pizza 3.0 Ciro Cascella (19. October 2024)
On the hunt for the absolute Neapolitan pizza, we ended up in this place, since it was actually not that easy to find one. And frankly, while the place doesn’t look too appealing, i.e., more like a tourist place, it turned out to be quite decent. I went for the “Arancino 3.0” (EUR 2.50) and the “Corcchè 3.0” (EUR 3.00), which were both good. I mean, largely, it was just fried stuff, but it wasn’t all too bad. Given I was starving (kind of), it was also fine to get something into your belly.
My choice for pizza was “Colors of Italy (red Piennolo tomatoes from Vesuvius DOP, stracciata of buffalo mozzarella from Campania DOP, fresh basil pesto, 24-month aged Parmesan, extra virgin olive oil and fresh basil from the garden)” (EUR 13.00), which was actually quite good. I think I’ve never had a Neapolitan pizza before, and was quite surprised that the crust was so thick and soft. It was good, no question, but personally, too much crust and not enough ingredients. I suppose it’s largely a question of preference, though.
All in all, the pizza at the Pizza 3.0 Ciro Cascella was quite decent overall, so, it is not a bad place to enjoy a pizza, I just concluded for myself, I’m not entirely sure if I enjoy the Neapolitan version of it too much.
