A safe bet for a swift Italian business lunch: Restaurant Antica Roma (22. October 2024)
The Antica Roma is a safe bet for dinner as well as for lunch, since they offer good food for incredibly fair prices, and the service and the kitchen are swift. I went for the “broccoli soup with croutons”, which was simple, but enjoyable.
I thought, I’d take a proper starter, which turned out to be almost the size of a main dish. The “fermentico con uovo & pancetta (lamb’s lettuce with egg and bacon)” (CHF 14.50) was a massive bowl of salad, and it was lovely to get these crispy bacon stripes on top of it. So, it was absolutely good, however, it was way too big for a starter.
As a main course, I picked the “Pizza Calabrese (tomato, mozzarella, spicy salami, olives, onion)” (CHF 22.50), which was good. The crust was crispy, the base was thin, and the toppings were nice and generous.
The interior of the Antica Roma is relatively simple, but functional, and it is, all in all, a friendly atmosphere. On top of that, the staff is swift and friendly. So, if you’re looking for something tasty, relatively cheap, and all of that in a reasonable amount of time, the Antica Roma is a good choice.
