A delicious seafood experience with great service, but definitely way overpriced: Restaurant Bianchi (21. November 2024)
It’s a good two years ago since I’ve last been to the Bianchi, and it was about time to pay the place another visit. Since it is truffle season, I figured I’d go for the “tagliolini al tartufo bianco” (CHF 48.00) as a starter, which were quite lovely since the pasta was cooked close to al dente (a little bit overcooked) and the white truffle was actually flavourful and aromatic.
The “tonno in crosta di pepe nero (pan fried tuna steak with black pepper crust, saffron sauce, rice, spinach)” (CHF 56.00) on the other hand didn’t entirely fit my expectations since the tuna was too dry for me, and that was specifically the case considering the additional pepper crust, which was great from a texture perspective, but also made the bite ‘more dry’ than originally anticipated. The saffron sauce was relatively uneventful and so was the spinach, but if you added a bit of salt, it was actually decent.
The place is nice in terms of interior design and the food is good, but it is definitely on the expensive side of things. Sure, the food is good, but in all honesty, the prices are a bit beyond for what you get. However, the staff is superbly friendly and makes sure you get everything you need and want within no time.
