A ‘colourful’ option close to Altstetten Bahnhof: Restaurant Bunt (28. November 2024)
So far I have never been to the Restaurant Bunt (which means colourful in English), and I must say, I was quite positively surprised. It’s located right next to the Bahnhof Altstetten, which is convenient. The place is rather big, but also quite crowded for lunch, so, I would highly recommend you to book a table in advance.
I decided to go for the lunch menu, which started with a “potato leek soup”, which was served in no time, and actually quite decent. Nothing too exciting, to be honest, but a solid and tasty dish.
The main of the day was the “salmon filet with a saffron sauce, fregola sarda, and baked beetroot” (CHF 29.50), which did not only look lovely, but it was actually quite tasty. The salmon was luckily not overcooked, and it went well with the fregola sarda, the beetroot and the saffron sauce.
The staff is super attentive and friendly, and makes sure that you get your beverages and your dishes within no time. And even when you ask for the bill, which so often takes way too long, it arrives within no time.
